Malachi was founded in 1991 to support children affected by family breakdown. It was initially established in 1991 as a charity, and named Malachi Community Trust (MCT) whose aim and purpose it was to support children and young people affected by complex and adverse family circumstances. In August 2009, in response to the challenges of growth, Malachi Specialist Family Support Services CIC (MSFSS CIC) was formed. In April 2010, the core services were transferred, and are now delivered by this newly formed Company, The two organisations work together and are linked constitutionally. One of the Trust's board members is a director of The Company and for strategic reasons, the CEO, together with the directors of Operations and Sales are Trustees. Both organizations are asset locked bodies but are able to trade with each other.
