Malachi Training Lauded

Malachi’s signature bereavement awareness training has received glowing praise from attendees and organisers alike at the Birmingham Area Safeguarding Conference.
Malachi were handpicked as one of a small number of key note speakers, to deliver a one hour introduction to the full training course over three days at the Birmingham City Council Area Safeguarding Conference in November.

The conference, attended by head teachers, deputy heads and designate safeguarding professionals from 410 Birmingham Schools was held at the Tally Ho, Police Training Centre on the Pershore Road.

From the evaluation forms filled out by attendees of the conference, Malachi scored highest out of all organisations in the speaker rating category with the talk receiving a huge 92% satisfaction rating.

Before the one hour slot delivered by our very own bereavement specialist Gemma Morgan, delegates ranked their knowledge of bereavement as an average of 58%, a typically 'normal' level. However, after the session this jumped to very strong 88%, with individuals feeling much more comfortable with the topic as part of their role.

Malachi strive to assist schools in every way we can, and with a bank of such talented, knowledgeable and specialist staff, the provision of staff training to schools is just another way for the organisation to support young people through the problems they may face. Malachi’s full bereavement training course explores models of bereavement and how children will experience this in dramatically different ways to adults. With the aim of making more ‘bereavement first aiders’ in school, the course offers those who are often the first to hear of a child’s bereavement, the tools, knowledge and confidence to draw from when confronting this awful, but all too common event.

Malachi work empathically, personably and above all optimistically to tackle problems that are faced by our families on a day to day basis. Through Malachi staff training we work side by side with those school staff whom we respect so much in order to create the greatest safety net of support possible for young people. Alongside Bereavement Awareness Training, Malachi also offer training in ‘Resilience in Children’, ‘Responding to Children’s Behaviour and ‘Reflective Practice’ either in your School or at our fully equipped base at the Billesley Ark.
